You’d think as a wedding photographer that Liv Hetherington would have a dreamy approach to romance, however when it comes to Valentine's Day, she is one big scrooge! It seems every year she spends the days around this holiday trying to avoid her well meaning friends and family who want to set her up on yet another date. She wants no part of any romantic dinners by candlelight, large boxes of candy or heart shaped anythings. However this year, it seems everyone has given up on her and she will actually spend the day alone.
Liv is ready to celebrate and is determined this year she will finish up catching up on her Dickens collection or finally getting things put together in her own studio. Cupid has different plans for Liv and will send three special guests to visit her on this most romantic day of the year – the ghosts of Valentine's Day Past, Present and Yet to Come. Does this storyline sound familiar yet?
Following along with the whole storyline of Scrooge, it seems that Liv’s visitors may have her rethinking her whole idea about romance and happily ever afters. Can Drew, the semi new man in Liv’s life, finally dream of maybe having a relationship with her?
This was a rather charming idea for a chick-lit type novel and I think any single woman who’s been gone on more than one blind date or been set up over the years will appreciate it a bit more than I did. This particular book tends to be written for a younger reader instead of the more mature one like myself.
