Beau, legally named Barbra, dated two Mike’s. Now that she has been married and has children, she begins to rethink her decision about which Mike she should have chosen. The story begins to unravel and melds past and present in a perfect blend. The reader will enjoy most of her trips down memory lane and is kept in suspense as to which Mike is her husband.

The question is as she becomes so entangled in the past; will she do something to her future she may regret?

This was a novel about life. This is for every housewife who has at one moment or another wondered what could have been. A sarcastic, witty edge gives the story a humor element that keeps the reader entertained thoroughly by Beau’s accounts. And of course in the reader’s mind throughout most of the story is “Which Mike did she choose?”

There are some moments when Beau is talking that you will find yourself laughing out loud. There is something to be said for the realism this author makes you feel as you read along with her. The story moves quickly and despite the changes in setting, the reader does not find themselves confused or wondering which time period they are in. The changes from past to present meld perfectly and are easy to follow.

There are times when Beau's spoiled antics may become a tad wearing, however quickly the story changes or moves on. And it is obvious that despite her doubts, and despite her thoughts, she does love her family first and foremost. Which will endear her to more than one reader.
