The day that Brooke Valentine lost her job, was the same day she caught her husband with another woman. Not willing to sit around and play the fool for him again, she packs up her daughter Sophie and the cat that hates her and takes off for her sisters. Her sister still lives in the same small town in New Hampshire that they grew up in. Brooke is not sure that she’s ready to make a clean break, but she is sure that she needs to be far away from her philandering husband as she thinks about her future.
Brooke is immediately wrapped up in the warmth of the people she grew up with and it doesn’t take her long to make contact with her old friends from school. Brooke begins to wonder if her life has been as bad as she thought, when she finds out what her dearest friends have gone through themselves. The relationships that develop again between old friends is one of the best parts of this book
With the help of her old friends and also one new handsome one, Brooke will gain the courage to stand on her own two feet and take a step in the right direction to a new future.
I have read two previous books by Sandra Stefan which I found to hold my attention and keep me entertained, however even though this current book started off good, it seemed to fall flat way before the mid point of the book. I personally think anyone looking for a strong romance, is not going to find it with this book. I might try other Steffen books in the future, but only after reading other reviews first.
