Amanda de Piaget despairs of ever finding a suitor who can see past her dowry. When her father, Rhys, says that she should make her choice by summer, she knows she will have to take action. Learning a few combat tricks from her brothers, she plans to leave Artane rather than face a loveless marriage to a fortune hunter.
Jake Kilchurn wonders how he managed to get roped into acting like a messenger boy for his father. Surely the fact that he has his own successful business should mean something. His three older brothers are eager to follow in the old manís footsteps, and Jake marches to a different drummer. So why was he driving his vintage Jag through the back of beyond on his way to a medieval castle?
Lynn Kurland has penned another fantastic tale weaving time-travel, action and romance together in Dreams of Stardust. As her fans eagerly await each new tale of the de Piagets and MacLeods, Ms. Kurland opens the portals of time and never disappoints.
Amanda is a marvelous heroine, easily fitting into this warrior family. Stunningly beautiful, she has the brains and courage to match her features and is not hesitant to use them. She refuses to settle for less than her parentsí marriage - one of love and laughter. Jake has a much more difficult task as he winds up on the ancient side of England, learning armed combat and Norman French, but he brings plenty of grit and a few modern skills to the table as well.
If you have never experienced the wonders of Ms. Kurlandís work, Dreams of Stardust would be a wonderful place to begin. But be forewarned - you will be scouring the bookstores and Ebay for the other books in this series when you have finished. The compulsion to read them all will be too strong to deny!
