Lulu Ross is unlike anyone Colin Murphy has ever met. Professional bodyguard and former Marine, Murphy has seen a lot of the negative side of humanity and Lulu doesn’t fit in with what he expects of his fellow man. She is a bright ray of sunshine in a world he is beginning to loose faith in. He was brought in to safe guard Lulu from an unknown threat and his close proximity to her is driving him not only crazy, but making him fall in love.
Lulu refuses to believe Murphy’s claim that she is being threatened. After all, who would want to harm a woman who performs for children? But there’s something about Murphy that calls to her and makes her want to step outside of her shell and pursue a relationship with him. Now she’s acting in a bolder manner than she normally would and is taking a chance that he’ll be able to accept her, flaws and all.
Charmed is a delightful story that is not only well-written, but the characters are vastly appealing as well. The story is tender and makes one hope that there are people out in the world who have such open and giving hearts. Although Lulu is a bit on the naive side, she is a charming character that readers will fall in love with. Beth Ciotta did a wonderful job with this story and I look forward to reading more of her work.
