Once upon a time Callie Jones and Mica Blackfeather had rocked each other’s world when they discovered passion in the barn on the Triple J ranch. However little did Callie know that her wicked mother also knew what the young lovebirds were up to. In another of her drunken rages Maxine threatens to bring Mica up on statutory rape changes and Callie knows what she must do. She will make sure that she ends things with Mica in order to save him from possible jail time.

All Micah remembers is the broken heart he suffered as he and his mother were sent away from the Triple J. Now a grown man, Mica has come back to seek revenge and he knows the perfect way to do it. First he’ll buy the ranch back from the bank and then he’ll force Callie to become his slave by telling her the only way she can stay on the land is by marrying him.

Ever since Callie’s father died, she’s never expected anything good to happen to her. However losing the ranch that her father would have given his life for is almost enough to push her over the edge. When she finds out that Mica is the new owner and what his conditions are she knows she doesn’t have many other options if she wants to stay on.

What begins as revenge explodes into something that both Callie and Mica both thought they had forgotten over the years. Neither one seems to want to fight the powerful feelings that keep drawing them together again and again. However no matter how hot the flames are between them, neither one ever forgets the reason they are really there.

This book very quickly turns from a tale of revenge to one of love however as Mica will find out what really happened all those years ago and will quickly be ready to forgive Callie and change their forced marriage into one based on love. I had a bit of a problem with how quickly everything in this book changed around however considering the small length of the book it was a decent story. I enjoy hearing about old lovers being reunited and this story certainly has that theme going for it.
