Another great book from Robin Jones Gunn, author of the Sisterchicks series.

Abby wanted her daughter, Hannah, to know her great-grandmother the way Abby knew her. This was her secret wish. They live in Hawaii and Grand Lady, the name everyone uses to refer to great-grandmother, lives in Louisiana. Money was tight. How was this wish going to happen?

In a twist of fate, Abby`s brother called and asked if she would like to fly down to his place and drive his SUV to Atlanta while he and his family were in Europe. He offered to pay for everything. Abby jumped at the chance. Finally, her secret wish was to come true. Abby and Hannah get to her brother's house and start a road trip of a lifetime.

They both learn new things about each other on the way to Abby`s mother`s house. When they arrive, Hannah bonds with Abby’s mother. She can`t understand why, she never really bonded with her while she was growing up. She feels a little jealous. When they arrive at Grand Lady`s place, Abby doesn`t understand why the area isn`t the same now as it was when she was twelve.

As a child you live in a perfect world, when you become an adult you want that same perfect world when you revisit childhood places.

Hannah and Grand Lady really don’t hit it off, but Hannah does try. It just isn`t working. This is a journey into a woman`s heart and soul, you, the reader, might even see your story in Abby, Hannah, and Grand Lady.
