Shelby’s Angels: When Irish Eyes Are Dying by Stephanie Burke is the story of a woman who runs a private investigation firm and her seven absolutely gorgeous, vain but not very bright private investigators, whom she calls her “Angels”. Shelby is a woman surrounded by gorgeous, loveable dunces that can drive her up the wall.

When Shelby receives a call from someone at the male skin-care conglomerate Irish Eyes with a request to investigate the recent deaths of the male models, she puts the Angels to work. Some of the guys go in as models while others go in “undercover” as make-up artists, etc. There are suspects galore and some of the most inept investigating I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. The Angels solve this crime, but it’s more by accident and luck than any investigating although one of the Angels is a computer whiz! The bad guy was a surprise to me.

Stephanie Burke writes a terrific private investigator/murder mystery sexy spoof that is thoroughly enjoyable!!! Shelby and Will, Shelby’s man and the Angels “handler”, were well written, although most of the book concentrated on the Angels. The Angels are adorable, in all their beauty and “dense-ness”! She does a great job of spoofing, not only the modeling world, but also the private investigation world. I can’t wait to read the next book!!
