Jordon La Fontaine is a hard working woman with the District Attorneyís office. She has been working extremely hard ever since her husband died of a heart attack almost a year ago. She is eyeing the position of Bureau Chief of the Homicide Division. She is in completion for this position with Jerrod Wresler, and they are not fond of each other.
Simon McNeil was the partner of Eric, Jordonís husband; he was one handsome man and also married. Jordon wasnít about to start anything with him; she didnít want to be a house wrecker. But when her son is charged with killing two college students, she needs to prove her son did not do this, she turns to Simon for help.
Jerrod Wresler has been assigned to the case of Jordonís son, he knows if he wins this case and puts Jordonís son behind bars, the coveted position will be his. He will stop at nothing to gain that job. When a copís wife is found murdered, evidence points to Jerrod as the suspect. Jordon is the one on the case, she not only has to prove her son didnít kill those people, but she also has to prove that either Jerrod killed the cops wife or the cop himself killed her.
This was an interesting read. It had all the elements of a great mystery book, suspicions, red herrings, evidence and witnesses. If you are into mysteries, this would be the book for you.
