Since turning vampire, Mel has challenged herself as well as other vampires. She has pushed her limits of fear and death. Yet, she is bored with nothing new to challenge her. Well, there is one thing left to challenge her, but she’s not sure she will really be able to submit. Zigor, head Inmate of Burgundy Park (a club that caterers to all the needs a vampire has) is that last challenge. One of the ancient ones, he refuses to give up the ways of the world where he was a warrior, Zigor will give Mel great pleasure but at the cost of her submission.

At only 67 pages, one might be deceived in thinking that this book is going to lose something. Will it drop the romance? What about action? Will I really be able to get into the character’s minds and emotions with such a short story? YES! We are talking Kate Hill here. Vampire writer extraordinaire, Ms. Hill packs everything needed to make a great erotic romance into such a small amount of space. We first meet Mel, a tough as nails woman who is definitely a modern aged independent female. She doesn’t need anything to satisfy her. However, she is lonley and fears rejection. Then Zigor, oh my, what a man, a complete alpha, he is of the impression that everyone is there for his pleasure. Well with his power and age, they are, but he gives pleasure as well and has his own fears and needs. Both characters are strong willed and even though they fight their feelings, they are certain to be lovers of a wondrous degree. Emotional turmoil and (as I said) even a bit of action, round out this great short story, making it a definite must read and a keeper for me.
