Lady Saura of Roget lived a lonely life of servitude - her fortune controlled by her sinister stepfather - until she was summoned to the castle of Sir William of Miraval. The magnificent knight had once sworn to live or perish by the sword. But that was before his world was engulfed in agonizing darkness.

They came together in a blaze of passion - the raven-haired maiden and the golden warrior who laid siege to her heart. Yet danger awaited them just beyond the castle walls. Saura and William soon found themselves fighting for their lives, even as they surrendered to an all-consuming love.

Candle In The Window is Christina Doddís first published novel and possibly her most beloved (itís my personal favorite Dodd book!). Saura is written with warmth and grace. William is strong yet very tender where Saura is concerned. When his blindness is close to overwhelming him, Saura brings a light back into his life, that will make your feelings and spirits come alive. I found this to be a very emotional book that draws you into the storyline and takes hold of your heartstrings.

This is a keeper for any Christina Dodd fan or lover of historical romance. If you arenít lucky enough to have a first edition copy, it has been re-issued, so go out and get yourself a copy and enjoy!
