Katerina Roth is now CEO of her familyís candy business, Roth Confectionery Company. She is working so hard that she is making the company and its needs her entire life. Kat really hasnít had much of a personal life since her divorce from her ex husband, Mark Denham who coincidently is the head of Rothís biggest competitor Denham Candy Company. The two companies have been rivals for years.
Katís cousin Fritz has recently come to work for Roth and he comes up with marketing campaign called Kandy For Kids that will benefit many childrenís charities as well as give the candy companies some much needed press. The key for the campaign to be a success is to have the top people for each company work directly on the campaign. This means that Kat and Mark Denham will be spending many hours together.
Mark Denham is still in love with Kat and to be truthful he isnít sure why they got divorced in the first place. He hopes to win Kat over and make her fall in love with him all over again. Kat on the other hand is less than thrilled to be spending time with Mark. Itís the last thing she wants to do.
Chocolate Magic is a sweet tale of love and second chances. Kat and Mark, the main characters, are heartwarming and will win readers over from the start. I did find Katís reasons for the breakup a bit unclear as far as the back story line went, but aside from that this was a delightful tale.
The author does a splendid job of incorporating her secondary characters into this story as well. Fritz and Katís assistant Norma play a big role bringing Kat and Mark together. There is also a very unconventional secondary romance that will delight readers as well. Overall Chocolate Magic is a fun and fast moving tale that will leave readers with a warm feeling when the last page has been turned.
