Griffin Calverson is wealthy, handsome, and he certainly has the Midas touch. His wealth and success has however, isolated him. He is a lonely man. He has accepted that this situation may be for the rest of his life, until he runs into Araminta Woodhall, a close friend of his sister. Whenever they meet there is intense heat between them. Unfortunately, due to his social status they will not be able to marry. Will the rules force him to break them? Will Araminta agree to be his mistress because of the rules?

Araminta Woodhall is a cook in Linder Kane’s home, she does not care much for him, as he abuses his mistress, Olivia Smith. Araminta has tried to convince Olivia to leave Mr. Kane, but either she can`t or won`t. Araminta does not know which, since Olivia will not talk about her past with anyone. When Griffin shows up at a dinner party, Araminta is hopeful he can help her get Olivia out of the house without any trouble.

Araminta is attracted to Griffin, but she also knows the rules of society. She does not want to settle with being his mistress, she wants to be accepted by society. Her secret is the key.

This was an enjoyable read, I like the time period, 1883 in New York City. The love scenes were intense. You could sense both Griffin and Araminta really cared for each other and they both wanted to be with each other. If you read the author's previous book, Somebody Wonderful, you most definitely will want to read Somebody to Love.
