After the death of their parents, Annabelle and her two sisters go to live with their uncle, Yank Morgan, a publicity manager for professional athletes. As an adult, Annabelle and her sisters are partners in the firm, the Hot Zone. Annabelle has a thing for big, strong, alpha males and what better way to meet them, than to work at a PR firm.

After being hurt by an athlete and client, Annabelle vows to keep her distance and guard her heart. But she doesn’t count on their newest client, former pro-football player Brandon Vaughn, who is also a former client. Brandon is everything she loves about men and more. But she’s afraid of getting hurt and thinks he’s too good to be true. When she is the only rep available to bail him out of a jam, Annabelle does her best to keep her heart to herself. But the best laid plans…

Brandon has his reasons for going back to Hot Zone. His ex-wife caught him at a weak moment, and got him to agree to break his contract with Yank Morgan and go with another firm. When that deal fell through, his marriage and his career went with it. Now he is back to Yank, hoping that he will forgive him and take him on as a client. Someone is sabotaging his newest project, a lodge and summer camp for disadvantaged children. Yank is like a father to him, and he not only wants his help, he also needs his forgiveness. What he didn’t count on was getting his niece.

Brandon and Annabelle are smart, honest, straightforward people. Both not afraid to be themselves and to let the other know what they want, unless it involves emotions. Both have been hurt but have found something in each other that draws them together and makes the risks worth taking. I liked them very much. Funny and passionate, Brandon and Annabelle came across as real people with real problems. With the addition of Annabelle's younger sisters, each with distinct personalities, her uncle Yank, a man who is still afraid to admit that his heart belongs to his secretary and right hand Lola. Lola has been like a mother to the girls and now thinks its time that Yank admitted to his feelings for her.

I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. I hope its going to be a series, I am very intrigued to find out what happens next with Lola and Yank, who Annabelle’s sisters, Sophie and Mickey hook up with and just how hot can it get in the Hot Zone.
