Mickey Coleman was in quite a mess. After getting way too drunk at her best friend’s bachelorette party Mickey ended up sleeping with the young intern at her company. Oh what a mistake. To make matters worse John has informed Mickey that he videotaped them in a less than business like position and that he wants to continue their affair. Mickey needs to get this tape back and she needs a professional to help her steal the evidence.

Mickey confides the whole sordid situation to her friend Beth who works at the local Starbucks and Beth has the perfect solution. She knows just the guy to help Mickey recover the tape. You see all sorts of things at Starbucks don’t you know. Beth recommends a “mafia guy” who frequents the coffee house by the name of Dominic Corlucci.

Desperate to save her reputation Mickey is ready to try anything and Mickey stakes out the coffee house waiting for Dominic to show up. When he does she makes him an offer he can’t refuse. After initially refusing Dominic reluctantly agrees to help the fascinating woman. This could end up being really fun and Dominic needs a little fun. His everyday life is stressful and everything is not what it seems. Mickey is a fascinating and pleasant distraction.

In a nutshell this is how Mickey and Dominic meet. To tell you much more of the story line might ruin it so I will leave it at that.

The second installment of Kathleen O’Reilly’s the bachelorette pact is my favorite so far. Ms. O’Reilly’s humorous writing style shines through in this book. Mickey is a strong heroine and sexy Dominic is a perfect match for this woman who is convinced she doesn’t need a man to survive. The banter between the two main characters is classic and had me laughing out loud.

Once again in It Should Happen To You Ms. O’Reilly has turned in a story that is not the norm for category romance. She has truly put her own brand on this mini series of books and readers won’t want to miss any of the four books in this delightful series. These books should end up among the best in the Temptation line come year-end. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of this memorable series.
