Christine Feehan has created a fascinating world of heroes and heroines in the Dark series books of the Carpathians. Dark Legend is the latest and introduces the legendary twins, Gabriel and Lucien, who were mentioned in a few of the previous books. They are ancient Carpathians, hunters of the undead, and were once inseparable in their lives as twins. But something happened that changed their lives and now Gabriel fears he will have to fulfill a vow he and Lucien made centuries ago: if one should turn into the dreaded vampire of legend, then the other brother would be the one to hunt down and destroy his twin.

When Gabriel awakens from a disturbed, self-exiled sleep, his first thought is of the hunger that racks his weakened body. His next is that he knows Lucien has escaped the same sleep and is now loose on the unsuspecting world.

Finding his life mate in the midst of all the confusion of re-entering a world changed over the centuries while he slept, was the last thought in his mind. But from out of nowhere, fate leads him to Francesca, a Carpathian female and a healer.

Francesca has survived alone for centuries and is now ready to meet the dawn. Gabriel re-entering her life changes things. The undeniable love that binds them is strong, sure, potent. She is his life mate, destined long ago.

Christine has a unique talent in writing love stories that are so emotional and strong. You feel the power of the everlasting soul-felt love the hero and heroine share. Her love scenes sizzle with intense emotions and incredible hot sex.

Although Dark Legend is the seventh book in the Dark books, new readers of the series do not have to read any of them in order - each story stand-alone and it's easy to grasp the history in the previous books. As with all the DARK books, this new one is a definite keeper!
