Cinda Ellis is a great mother. She works 10 to 12 hour days, seven days a week to provide everything for her seven year old daughter, Sami. What she doesn’t know is that all Sami wants is for her mother to laugh again. With the help of their grandmotherly neighbor, Sami “wins” a bachelor and a three day weekend for her mother. Sami also wins the heart of the bachelor and his mother by giving all her money to a charity for unprivileged children in hopes of giving her mother the best Mother’s Day present.

The seventh story in Kay Wilde’s Tempting Fate: Holiday Fantasies, Sold to the Lowest Bidder is no less romantic or emotional than any of the others. A consistently wonderful storyteller, Ms. Wilde brings us a modern day Cinderella story with a charming little girl, a hard working mother, two fairy godmothers, and one frog prince. Cinda is a wonderful heroine; she is hard working and hides her fears from everyone. Wade is a reclusive author who hates to leave his “castle” for any reason. The secondary characters are sweet and fun additions to the story line, especially darling little Sami who does her best to give her mother a wonderful present. Sweet, heart wrenching and romantic, I definitely recommend this story, as well as the others in this series, as a must-read!
