In a quiet little Colorado town, no one would ever believe that a killer resided there. But as the bodies begin to pile up, the townspeople start to get nervous. One woman must break out of the prison her sorrow has built to trust a man will protect her.

Aiden Kinncaid has come to this town to get his hotel back on schedule. He arrives a day early and finds the house heís supposed to rent is empty. It would seem his landlady has forgotten that he was supposed to be arriving. He settles in and goes to sleep.

Jesslyn Blackís night ends in terror. Her best friend has been killed minutes after Jess talked to her. She has had an encounter with the killer. Now, there is a strange man standing in her bedroom. She is relieved to find out that heís her new renter. But the pain and sadness of the night takes its toll and she longs for peace.

Then there is a second murder and Jess is attacked. Suddenly, the world is becoming a frightening place to be. Jess has lost so many in her life that she has tried to block off her heart. Aidenís presence in her life is forcing her to break through those walls and try to live again. Will the killer get to Jesslyn before she finds the courage to love again?

Ms. Clark has written a spine tingling tension filled story with characters that the reader comes to care about. Jesslyn is a smart mouthed heroine who proves how strong she is by reaching out to love again. Aiden is a decisive guy. When he sees something he wants, he goes for it. Just the right kind of guy for Jesslyn. The secondary characters are great as well. All those Kinncaid brothers are definitely heroes in their own rights. There are enough twists and turns in the story to keep the reader guessing to the end.

Deadly Shadows will make you shiver and leave all the lights on in the house. The best news is that there will another Kinncaid brother starring in his own story in June.
