Taylor is the adventurous type, she always has been. Her adventurous spirit either helps her or gets her into trouble when she is researching for a book. She likes to experience some of the things the hero or heroine will do. That is how she had an accident while rock climbing; it was an accident that should never have happened and one that rarely happens. This pretty much set the stage for the rest of the book, weaving Taylor in and out of danger. Even danger that Taylor doesn't realize until it is almost too late.

Jack is Taylor's new next-door neighbor and what a hunk he is. He seems to be a carpenter but looks can be deceiving, especially when one is a Navy SEAL. Jack is sent to keep an eye on Taylor, try to find out some information and try to keep her out of danger. Jack doesn't think that Taylor's accident was really an accident, but he can't let her know.

Taylor and Jack are perfect for one another. They are both stubborn and headstrong but care for others and don't want to see anyone get hurt. Of course, the situation Taylor keeps finding herself in, puts others at risk including her very pregnant sister Annie. Yes we get to meet Sam and Annie again and see what has been happening in their lives since we last left them. Taylor also has some issues that she needs to deal with and doesn't know how to deal with them.

Hot Pursuit is a fast paced read that will leave you wondering what will happen next. Taylor seems to draw attention to herself no matter what she is doing. The chemistry and instant attraction of Taylor and Jack is there from the beginning and it only burns brighter and hotter as time goes on. As the pursuit changes from one thing to another, so does the pursuit of the hearts of Taylor and Jack. I love that we were able to meet some of the characters from My Spy and receive an update on what has been happening with them. Now Izzy Teague is another matter entirely. Yes he plays a part in this story as well. He helps Jack and of course Taylor. But we are slowly learning a little bit about this man of mystery. I'm looking forward to more to come from this mystery man.
