Alison Jennings life is a prime example of a life that canít get much worse. She has a ten year old child, is divorced from a cheating husband, still working the same dead end job at Dairy Queen, and these are just the least of her problems. One of the few things she does enjoy doing is checking out Sexy Dexy also known as Dex Needham, III in the tabloids. Why is it she canít meet a man like that?

Life starts to take a drastic turn for Alison when her long time friend Bunny, who doesnít lack for money due to the financial gain sheís accomplished from each of her divorces, decides that Alison needs a major tune-up. After some new clothes, makeup and a few exercises Alison is looking good! Bunny thinks it is the perfect time to bring her buddy along with her to a fancy party thrown by the Needhams. When Alison gets the chance to lay her eyes on the man she used to dream about, she suddenly realizes something is very familiar about him.

Is it possible that Alisonís son is not the product of her ex-husband but that maybe her one spontaneous night of wild sex with a guy she knew as Skippy was? This might explain why her son is a boy genius when it is so obvious that her ex and she arenít. It doesnít take Alison long to realize that this party and what she discovers will change her life forever.

This was my first book by Suzanne MacPherson and it is obvious she is following the trail of some of the other great romantic comedy authors out there like Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson. I found this rags to riches story to be typical of a story that Iíve read often before however Ms. MacPherson blended a strong dose of humor and a pretty spicy romance to make it all in all an enjoyable summer read.
