What do the murder of a teenage girl and the disappearance of an elderly lady have in common? Nothing on the surface, but to the two investigators involved, there has to be a connection.

Campbell Cody works at her fatherís security firm. Sheís part of a group that watches over a retirement home. When one of her elderly friends disappears, Campbell decides that she needs to discover what has happened. Along the way, she runs into Jackson Blade and realizes that her life will never be the same.

Blade is doing his own investigating into the drug scene that thrives in the small Texas town of Longview. When one of the teenager girls heís been following turns up dead, he fears heís hit a dead end. Then he meets Campbell at the girlís funeral and realizes that there is more to his case than meets the eye.

Both Blade and Campbell are strong characters who have to overcome their pasts to make their futures work out. They both have faced whatís happened to them and havenít lost the drive that makes them good cops. The story is fast paced with enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested. Though the romance tends to take a backseat to the suspense, the chemistry between Blade and Campbell is believable and tender.

While Others Sleep, takes you on a wild ride. It gives you a chance to see what happens in the dark after the lights go out.
