In her second book release, Kresley Cole brings us another wonderful story of adventure and love found in the most romantic of settings; a deserted island.

Victoria Dearbourne has been stranded on this island for a decade. After that fateful day when the ship she and her parents and her companion were traveling sank. Victoria has tried to make some kind of life for herself and Cammy, her companion. They were the only survivors of the shipwreck. After waiting and hoping for someone to rescue them, it seemed as if it would never happen. Until the day that Grant Sutherland landed on her island and was determined to take her back to a life that would never be the same.

Grant Sutherland took a vow to find young Victoria and bring her home. When the Earl of Blemont, Edward Dearbourne approached him to find his missing family, thought drowned at sea, he thought the old man daft. Who could survive the kind of shipwreck that had befallen them and even if they did survive the wreck, could they have survived these last years? He highly doubted it, but he took the commission anyway and was determined to find them or proof that no one survived the wreck.

When at last they came upon a deserted island, he thought that his months at sea were effecting his eyesight, for on the beach was the most beautiful sea nymph that he had ever dreamed of. Could she truly be Victoria Dearbourne? Could she have truly lived all of these years alone on an island? Little did he know that not only did Tori survive all of the years, but she also had made a comfortable home for herself and Cammy and after all of these years wishing and hoping to be rescued, when the time finally comes in the form of Grant Sutherland, she doesn’t really want to leave her island. What kind of life can she have after being away from civilization for so long? And what if Grant wants something from her in return for rescuing her?

Ms. Cole is a wonderful storyteller. Her characters come alive and the settings that she describes make the reader feel as if she is right there. Victoria has lived away from the ‘real world’ since she was a young girl. Ms. Cole brings out her insecurities as well as a wisdom that is seldom ever seen in one so young. Grant is an honest and prideful man. He would never do anything outside of propriety, but Tori pushes him to his limit. When they finally accept the attraction between them, the pages ignite with unbridled passion and love.

This wonderfully talented author will be a force to recon with. Ms. Cole’s writing style is top notch and I foresee great things for her. Watch out Christina Dodd’s of romance, Kresley Cole is on her way!
