Rachel is on the run. Afraid for her life, she invents a new identity, hoping that getting lost in the rain forest of the Amazon will throw her assassins off her trail and maybe she can live a fairly normal life. She feels more at home in the rain forest than she ever felt in her family home in Florida.

When she finds an empty tree house, she ducks into it to wait out the rain, not knowing that it is the home of Rio Santana, a mysterious outcast. The attraction is immediate but she knows that she is being hunted and doesn’t want take the chance on his being hurt in the attempts to get to her.

Rio is used to being hunted. Outcast by his people, he lives an isolated existence, offering his skills as a hunter and warrior to save kidnap victims from bandits operating in the rain forest. When he gets a good look at the beautiful woman occupying his home, he realizes that she is one of their own, who has found her way to her true home, and she is coming into the Han Vol Dan, her first change into her true form, a leopard. It doesn’t help that she is also going into heat. Rio is determined to claim his woman, even if she doesn’t want to believe what he is telling her.

With unexpected twists and turns, Christine Feehan has written an intense story of passion and mystery. In her signature style, Ms. Feehan has given us strong, compelling characters. Rio is handsome, mysterious, strong and sensitive. Rachel is a strong woman who has weathered impossible situations to survive. She is not afraid to speak her mind and is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but she is also willing to admit when she doesn’t know how to handle a situation. Rachel and Rio are a wonderful, passionate, funny couple. Wild Rain is the first book in a wonderful series about leopards, alpha men and the strong women who can tame them.
