Sabrina Jeffries brings us a new series entitled “The Royal Brotherhood Series”. In The Prince’s Bed is Alec’s story.

Alec, the Earl of Iversley and one of three bastard sons to the Prince of Wales, although he is the only one of the three that is not publicly known as a bastard son of the Prince, is searching for a wealthy heiress to be his bride. Although the thought of marrying a woman for her money fairly turns his stomach, he has no choice if he is to save his estates and all that he loves. When he confronts his two half-brothers and asks for their help in finding and helping him to secure an heiress, they declare themselves a Brotherhood. One that will show their reprobate of a father that they may have been bastard born, but they were going to make something of themselves none-the-less.

Katherine Merivale seems to be the answer to Alec’s prayers. She’s warm, compassionate, beautiful and an heiress. His only problem lies in convincing Katherine that he is her dream come true and to have her fall madly in love with him before she discovers that he is penniless and needs her fortune to save himself from ruin.

Katherine will settle for nothing less than a love match and when Alec turns out to be more than she could ever have hoped for in a husband, how will she react when she discovers that he is a fortune hunter? Will she ever be able to truly trust him again?

Ms. Jeffries writes with a passion that few in this genre can achieve. Her characters are full-bodied and very believable. Nothing is left to our imagination and everything is spelled out in detail, right down to the color of the red roses in bloom to the fresh scent in the spring air. And her love scenes fairly explode from the pages!

Katherine is a woman who knows what she wants and will settle for nothing less. Leary of men who try to pass themselves off as to-perfect-to-be-true, she is very careful to whom she gives her attention to. Alec on the other hand is not what he appears to be. In truth, he is a very honest man who is driven to deception under the direst of circumstances. Alpha-male he isn’t, but Alec could turn out to be Prince Charming in disguise! Hmmm…I guess you really need to read the book for yourself to find out! LOL
