Megan Hart takes us to a world of magic in The Clear Cold Light of Morning. Queen Perion and her consort must fight the thrall of unharnessed magic that threatens their future together.

In this brief story of erotic desires and devotion, we experience the power of love. Mason de Cimmerion is a Dark Sorcerer, yet he is unprepared for the seductive power of the magic. Unwilling to be enslaved by it, he relinquishes his high magic to become Queen Perionís husband. Unfortunately, the magic has not relinquished its desire for his soul.

Queen Perion cannot stop the thrall of the magic, only distract her lover from its allure. Ms. Hart writes not only a story filled with erotic imagery of passion and tenderness, but also filled with emotion.

I found this story to be well-written for such a short format. The author did not waste precious space with too much background, instead she brought us into the world with compelling characters. Readers will finish this tale with appetites whetted for more than a follow-up of the royal duo.
