Meg, a clever schoolteacher, leads quite an uneventful life. She dates Trey and has done so for 5 years. Then he proposes to her at the same time that her sister asks her to look after her costume shop in Chicago for a week. There she meets Taylor Gee an actress and her bodyguard Jarett. That's when her life gets eventful!
Jarett is a gorgeous guy any woman would want him guarding her body and more! When he gets Meg to stand in for Taylor the attraction between them is instant. Meg discovers passion like she has never shared with Trey but Jarett is Taylor's bodyguard and Taylor wants him as more than her bodyguard and isn't about to give him up.
This has the makings of a good story and the author doesn't disappoint.
The chemistry between Meg and Jarret is excellent. There are some memorable secondary characters in the story, like Quincy Lyle, the deliveryman at the costume shop.
Ms Bond has her humorous touches in this story. Harry the grinning; life size blow up doll is a prime example as Meg converses with him in the shop.
Meg rose to the occasion as Taylor's stand in and there were some wonderful touches in these scenes like when Trey's father tried to come on to her and she inquired after his wife without batting a false eyelash!
I thoroughly enjoy Stephanie Bond's style of writing. I like the humour she weaves through her stories along with a good dose of passion. I discovered her books in 2001 and her books will be among my buys in 2002.
I enjoyed this book but felt the end was rather rushed. Because of this I will give it 4 stars.
