Firefighter Cutter McCall can’t remember when Davalyn didn’t cause him and his friend some kind of grief. From almost setting the house on fire to getting them in trouble for breathing, it seems, Davalyn was always the culprit. Now she’s back. Cutter has married and has a son by his high school sweetheart, but their relationship doesn’t hold the sparks that even a casual friendship with Davalyn has. Now he’s divorced, but a relationship is the last thing he’s looking for.
When Davalyn decides to help her sorority sisters plan a Kwanzaa celebration, they aren’t prepared for all kinds of things to go wrong. Will things progress as planned? Or will the celebration fall apart? Will Cutter and Davalyn find love in the midst of the excitement?
Winter Fires, is an interesting book set during the holiday season. Cutter is a soft-spoken man, slow to anger. Even though he never raised his voice at his ex-wife, Davalyn provokes him to anger occasionally. Davalyn is spirited and spunky and she’s willing to do almost anything to get her way.
Geri Guillaume has penned a winner with Winter Fires. Fans of her earlier books will not be disappointed with her newest one. It is sure to warm the reader’s heart.
