Emily is a search and rescue nurse who finds her talents severely strained when she is taken hostage by escaped prisoner Jordan Shane. He wants to find proof that he didnít murder his wife. Emily attempts to escape a few times but isnít successful.

The story setting is very dramatic but despite the drama I found myself smiling at the antics of Pookie, Emilyís retriever puppy. This nutty dog nearly licks Jordan to death instead of seeing him as Emilyís enemy.

The passion between Jordan and Emily really sizzles throughout the story. They are a well-matched couple even if one is a very law abiding citizen! Emily is a brave heroine and takes quite a few risks to try to get away from Jordan but the reader can see how she weakens as passion mounts! She is no match for this well toned muscular hero! Canít say I blame her either. He is some hunk!

When the police get on their trail, the tension is hair raising at times and danger comes from a few sources. Cassie Miles is an author I enjoy and she doesnít disappoint me with this book. I found the characters good even though the baddies are easily spotted to my way of thinking.

I enjoyed the suspense and the passionate romance that develops at a good pace through the story.

This is a very good book. I got engrossed in the story and found Emily a very appealing heroine. Jordan is drop dead gorgeous!
