Event planner Kendall Chase has a big reason for not trusting men or relationships. Her ex-husband, Scott, almost killed her. Ben Whitaker is a contractor who has little faith in a womanís honesty. His deceased wife betrayed him. Neither of them has a reason to believe in happily ever after until they meet each other.
But before they can open their doubting hearts and say goodbye to the past, Kendall and Ben must survive Scottís return as well as a dangerous plot by an unknown enemy who has a secret agenda.
Even though Love Is Not Enough is written by one of my favorite authors, Marilyn Tyner, and centers around an intriguing plot, I admit to being disappointed after reading the book. The story dragged along at a snailís pace, and the dialogue seemed strained. I had to force myself to reach the last page.
Despite each of them being interesting separately, I found it difficult to picture Kendall and Ben as a couple because there was no chemistry between them. Some sparks flew in this story, but it was only because of the deep character dimensions of the inferior characters.
Unfortunately, these sparks were not enough to ignite a flame, and in this case, love was not enough to earn this book a spot on my bookshelf
