Sylvian was minding her own business, walking in the woods when she hears a sound and goes to investigate. She finds Terrace Winslow, her neighbor and friend from childhood. Sylvian knew that Terrance couldnít stay out of trouble and that he was a womanizer. But, she wasnít prepared for what he claims happened and was wondering how he was going to get out of this scrape he found himself in.

Sylvian wasnít like your average lady. She liked to walk in the woods and didnít care about fashion or anything else that ladies are suppose to know or do. She does have a soft heart for hurt animals and that includes Terrance as well.

Terrance somehow found himself in a duel but upon arriving at the designated site, the other man was dead. Shot in the back. Terrance must somehow clear his name and do so without revealing where he is. Of course, Terrance is a rake and a womanizer.

Sylvian and Terrance have known each other for years and it is that friendship that will help Terrance to clear his name. Of course there are several other elements at play here as well.

Barely Proper, is the final book in the Proper Series. This story has long time friends falling in love, well, only one finally realizing and seeing the love for the first time. There is danger along the way while Terrance is clearing his name. Needless to say, the family is not happy and Terrance must prove his worth. The series does not have to be read in order but can stand alone. I will be looking for more of Ms. Donnellyís stories.
