Eleanor wanted nothing more than to teach after the mistake she made years ago. So teaching is what she does now with the help of a friend. But that is about to come to a halt when her grandmother tells her she is going to London as a chaperone to her cousin Priscilla. Eleanor is not happy about going to London but she goes and hopes that she doesnít see the one person that she fell in love with, Griffith Preston.

Griffith Preston, now the Baron Bromley, only wanted to be an engineer. And that is what he was doing but had to give it up. He didnít think he would ever by the Baron being the second son, so he followed one of his heart's desire. Now he must also find a wife, something he is not looking forward too.

Eleanor and Griff have a past together and neither one of them expects to find the other in London and unmarried, but that is exactly what takes place. The love they felt before is still there but Eleanor is determined to stay away from Griff as she has a job to do and that is to find a husband for Priscilla.

Things donít always work out the way you plan or hope they would when you are young and it might take a while to realize the mistake you made. Eleanor realized her mistake very quickly, but for Griff it has taken a lot longer. Can they both forgive and move on past the mistakes they made in their youth?

Ms. Hinshaw gives us a story that shows how even some mistakes from our past might be overcome. Miss Milfordís Mistake is a story where one mistake turns into two and then neither party hears or sees the other for years and the love is still there but buried under the hurt. The story gives us an adventure or two along the way with trying to find a husband for Priscilla as well as Eleanor finding the love she thought she had lost.
