Upon reaching her 30th birthday, Ashley St. Claire decides to give herself a very special birthday present. After three years of being the perfect and responsible daughter and business manager, she decides to have one night of guilt-free, no-strings-attached pleasure. For that purpose she goes to a bar in the outskirts of town, where she knows no one will be able to recognize her.

Scott Wilde is having a guys night out, as he is playing pool with his siblings, they see this gorgeous temptress who definitely looks completely out of place at the bar. After observing her for a while, and on a dare, he approaches her, and he ends up winning the bet. That night would be a night to remember for both Ashley and Scott. However, Ashley refuses to give Scott any information about herself and disappears after their erotic encounter. Neither of them can stop thinking about the other and soon fate plays a little joke on them.

The Wilde Side, is the first Janelle Denison title that I’ve read. This extremely spicy contemporary romance is part of her popular Wilde series. Scott Wilde is a cousin of the Wilde brothers that were featured in the first titles of this series. Both Ashley and Scott have been seriously “burned” by previous relationships and as a result, their respective experiences color their interaction. There is undeniable chemistry of the pyrotechnical sort between them, however, they fear trusting their own judgment.

Ashley, in particular, was traumatized by her previous experience. Scott, on the other hand, comes to terms with his own misgivings and decides to put his heart on the line again. He knows that what he feels for Ashley is too strong to let it go without at least trying. I must say that I fell in love with Scott. He is the sort of man that we all dream of. I felt for Ashley as obviously she had more than reason to fear her strong attraction to Scott. The Wilde Side brings to the reader a passionate, at times a bit emotional, extremely hot story that will certainly appeal to lovers of contemporary romance. Bear in mind that this title has quite explicit love scenes ... not that I am complaining about it as I do tend to prefer my romances to be on the piping hot side of the scale. I most definitely intend to read the previous titles of this series and look forward to Ms. Denison’s future books.
