Claire Treemont is the coroner and has just received a body belonging to one good looking hunk. She admits itís been awhile and itís too bad heís dead but schtupping dead guys is just, euwww.

Zachariah Kowalski is about to go under the knife - the problem is, he ainít dead. Zach is a vampire - the problem is, he has narcolepsy. Which means he has a bad habit of falling asleep in the most unlikely places. When he wakes up in the morgue, he has to act quickly or he will be sleeping the sleep of the real dead instead of the undead. What he hadnít counted on was finding his Life Mate, Claire. He has been waiting and searching for her for centuries, but someone wants her dead. Now that he has found her, he will do what ever it takes to keep her even if he has to fight Fate.

Century after century, she either disappears or turns up dead before Zach can complete the turning and mating ritual during the full moon. But Claire is impatient, now that she has accepted the reality of Zach being a vampire; she wants to spend eternity with him. Now the race is on to find Claireís murderer, and complete the ritual turning her into a vampire and securing their bond for all time. When she figures out who her murderer has been all along, Claire decides to take matters into her own hands.

Author Dakota Cassidy have given us a funny, irreverent take on the whole vampire genre. I love the fact that her vamps joke about their fangs, blood sucking and the whole mind-reading thing. It also helps that the sex is hot, Zach is outrageously sexy and Claire is a smart, resourceful, independent woman who is more than willing and capable of taking matters into her own hands and making sure that no one threatens her man and her shot at happiness. With the help of some great secondary characters, Jarrod and Desdemona, Ms. Cassidy is an author to watch. I canít wait to find out what happens next with Desi, Jarrod and his lovely flogger. With the ability to combine sex and comedy, Dakota Cassidy has a bright, successful career ahead of her.
