With glittering amber eyes and hair gleaming red, Lady Rosalynde of Stanwood could entice a man to do deeds of reckless daring. And no one can resist her lure, including the bold and dangerously seductive outlaw, Blacksword. In return for safe escort to her ancestral home, Rosalynde is forced to marry the rogue, never dreaming that holy wedlock would fan the flames of unholy desire.

The fate of his name rested on Sir Aric of Wycliffe’s shoulders. Wielder of the coveted Blacksword, he has vowed death to the enemy who has sought to destroy him. That is, until his heart was taken by an enchanting maiden who had saved him from the hangman’s noose. Bound together by ancient custom, Aric demanded no less than Rose’s sweet surrender to his passions. Little did he realize it, but Rose’s desire runs deep and he will lose himself, heart and soul to this beautiful woman, but at what price?

This was a wonderful, sweet story. One of Ms. Becnel’s earlier works, it shows a little of what’s to come in the future for this wonderful writer. The characters are well thought out, the plot is stimulating and the scenery is breathtaking. This is not an “I can’t put it down book”, but it is to be well savored and enjoyed with a hot cup of tea and a toasty fire.
