Kendra Smith may be the only hope the FBI has of catching the Soccer Mom Killer. As a skilled sketch artist, Kendra has the reputation of being able to help witnesses put together details that have been forgotten. This case however is a little different; one of the investigators is Adam Stark, an agent with whom Kendra once had an affair. As Adam and Kendra work together on the case, the passion between the two ignites once again. As the body count mounts, evidence begins to point to Kendra’s own past and a secret that her family has been keeping for years. Together Adam and Kendra must uncover the truth before the killer stops killing moms and tries to kill them!

Mariah Stewart’s newest novel, Until Dark is a thrill ride from beginning to end. The characters are complex and believable as they negotiate the world of a serial killer. Kendra’s character is both strong and yet retains a softness and naivete that makes her fascinating to read. Adam is a man in control who knows what he wants, to protect Kendra; this also makes his character extremely appealing to the reader. The killer in this book is so evil and scary that he gives the reader goose bumps especially as the novel progresses. This well written character helps pull the entire novel together and makes a wonderful foe for Kendra and Adam. The plot is explosive and exciting with enough twists and turn to keep even the most avid suspense reader on his or her toes! The killer remains one step ahead of Kendra and Adam until the very end when the conclusion throws the reader for a real loop. The romance in the novel is touching and at times torrid but truly revolves around the mystery in this novel. This book is a heart-stopping read for those of you who like a little suspense with your romance.
