Mary Callahan received a letter from her father wanting her to spy on Alexander Drummond. Oh she goes to the interview for a nanny with all intentions of not being hired, but things donít go as she plans and she ends up being the nanny to a very willful eight year old. Mary is outspoken and says whatever is on her mind, but she is also kind. She also has a pet that disrupts the enter household.

Alexander Drummond is a Revenue Commander and feared by all. He has only one problem, he fears his daughter; so a nanny is required to take care of her. Oh he loves her, but he just doesnít know what to do with her, hence little time spent in her presence. He is also trying to live down the reputation of his father and his grandfathers. This makes him a virtual stick in the mud, he likes order and thinks because of who he is, everyone should know him.

How these two get together is; in a way, comical to watch. Mary is not your average run of the mill nanny; in fact she isnít one at all. She is in fact a performer for the circus and a famous one at that, only Alex doesnít know it. Alex is slowly breaking out of his shell; not being so stuffy, because of Mary. Of course, he tries to fight his attraction to her and Mary knows this and she plays it for all she is worth. Even letting him know that she is attracted to him as well, but seems to be able to control her feelings a little better than he does.

Tempted is just that. It will tempt you into reading it in one sitting. The story is fast paced and will definitely keep your attention with the antics going on and not only by Mary and Alex. There are a few secondary characters that helped put the two of them together. I would like to see Rein have his own story after the trick he played on Alex.
