Julie Sutherland was burying a husband who was only 23 years old. She, only 23 herself, now had to take care of her two little sons on her own, since her late husband, Kevin, was no longer there to help raise them. Julie was strong for her two sons, Shaun and Garrett. She had to be, as her in-laws wanted nothing to do with her or them. They blamed Julie for Kevinís death.

Thomas or Tom, was soon to be marrying into the Sutherland family but somehow lost his way in what he thought he wanted and what he really wanted. After being asked to play the bad guy in order to make Julie leave, he found that he couldn't persuade her to leave since he actually wanted her to stay.

The Sutherland family, to put it bluntly, was a royal pain and always seemed to bring people around to their way of thinking. Angelica was not angelic at all, but the worst of them all. She was vengeful, mean and didnít have a decent bone in her body. Her daughter, Darcy, was pretty much the same as her mother. Darcy was spiteful and filled with hatred towards Julie. Now Richard, on the other hand, was a drunk and seemed to not be aware of what was going on around him.

Tom and Julie seemed attracted to one another almost from the beginning. Yes, Julie had just buried her husband, but some things work in mysterious ways. Julie tried to stay away from Tom but his allure was too much for her. Tom knew he was in trouble but kept seeing and meeting Julie anyway.

This is a heart-wrenching tale that will have your emotions on a roller-coaster ride from the very beginning. The story has a love lost and then another love found. But in between the love that was blossoming between Julie and Tom there was much chaos and uneven and rocky territory. All That Glitters has an evil villain, well more than one actually, blackmail and a few other things thrown in that will spoil it if I say more. The secondary characters play a role in the story, as it is not only Julie and Tom's story but also a new beginning for a few others as well. Besides the secondary characters of the Sutherlands, we had Tomís family that tried to keep a down-to-earth approach of what was happening between Julie and Tom. If you are looking for a story of good versus evil then this one is for you.
