Author Alison Kent continues her www girl-gear... series with the story of Kinsey Gray and architect Doug Storey. What started out as a drunken confessional months ago has morphed into a close friendship between Kinsey and Doug. When Doug makes plans to leave Houston for a new job, Kinsey is stunned. She cannot imagine losing his friendship, and as his departure looms, she is forced to examine her feelings for him.

Doug Storey is restless. He cannot explain why he feels so “itchy” when he has a successful business, loads of friends and plenty of other activities. When a big firm comes along, wooing him with their prestigious reputation and clientele, he is flattered - and interested. He also knows that his relationship with Kinsey is doomed to remain casual. While he remembers every detail about their inebriated tropical interlude, Kinsey has never mentioned it, and seems determined to keep things on a friendly level. Denver looks pretty attractive and his professional career can only be advanced by this move.

Kinsey has lots of help with her dilemma. The other gIRL-gEAR execs offer their insights and ideas so that Kinsey can make it clear to Doug that she is ready to take their relationship to a new level. As their relationship turns serious, so does the sexual chemistry that they have been denying. This couple is HOT for each other, and the pages smolder as they indulge in some Wicked Games.

There are several other stories swirling around in this book, including a romance between two secondary characters, Izzy and Baron. This only enhances the story. I also enjoyed the hints of Poe’s story - coming soon to a bookshelf near you.
