Dorcas Jeffries was on the way to Texas as a companion to Flora MacAllister and a friend of Floraís, Mr. Leslie Armstrong. Flora was headed to a Scottish Castle in the middle of Texas to marry, Alan MacAllister, but she was in love with Leslie. So what does one due in these circumstances, Dorcas changes places with Flora so they can get away from Floraís Uncle Angus.

The plan was to wait long enough for Flora and Leslie to get away then she would tell Angus that she wasnít Flora. Only thing, Angus didnít let her go, but instead locked her up in the tower. Dorcas is intelligent, speaks and answers herself and beautiful. When locked in a tower how do you get out, without going through the door? Why, the windows of course. And who catches you but your intended groom. Yep, she was still to marry, Alan MacAlllister, even though she was not his intended bride.

Alan MacAllister was a man of many facets and strengths. He looked like a Comanche, rode like one, but was also the Laird to the MacAllisters. How you ask? His father was a Comanche and his mother was a MacAllister.

Dorcas and Alan were at odds almost from the minute they met, but both were attracted to each other. Alan knew and acknowledged it but Dorcas didnít and she fought it as long as she could. It didnít help that both of them had a past of heartache and pain. Dorcas had other things that kept her from wanting to fall in love for Alan, scientific reasons why she did the things she did when he was around.

I Do is a wonderful read that you will not want to put down. The scraps that Dorcas finds herself in are something else. She canít seem to stay out of trouble and finds it easily around her in the castle in Texas with its Scottish rules that are binding, even though they are in Texas. So be on the lookout for some mysterious, violence, hope, love, revenge and of course Scottish tales. There are some moments in the book that are just hilarious and will make you smile and maybe laugh out loud.

The secondary characters are something else. They play a major role in the story and add that extra excitement to the story. The way the story ended, I am hoping we get to read more about these MacAllisters and/or Smoke and Kathleen. If you are looking for a read that will take you away from realty for a little while and visit a Scottish Castle, with twist and turns that will leave you shaking your head in disbelief and wonder then I Do is the book for you.
