Coming Home, by Dee Holmes is in my opinion not romance but women’s’ fiction instead. Coming Home, is the story of three women, friends since their childhood in the small town of Bishop. Each has left Bishop, and forged a life path very different from the others, yet the bond of friendship they share is still strong.

Claire, Lexie, and Olivia find themselves having to return to Bishop. Olivia because her childhood home has been vandalized, and she needs to assess the damage and make arrangements for repairs. Claire and Lexie to offer assistance in making Olivia’s home livable again.

What each woman finds in Bishop surprises them. They went to Bishop on a mission, and soon found themselves on a journey of self discovery. Their personal discoveries are life altering and each woman comes away from the restoration of Olivia’s home a changed person.

Ms. Holmes has written a story of great emotion. As a reader you are immersed in each woman’s struggles, and achievements. As I read I imagined what I would do if faced with the some of the same decisions to be made as this group of friends. Each of us is truly blessed if we have a circle of friends as close knit and dependable as I found Claire, Lexie, and Olivia to be.
