All of her life, Eileen Connelly has been the sensible one. She has a good career as a lawyer and a decent boyfriend, who is on his way up in the same law firm and wants her to move in with him. That would be the practical thing to do and it would please her mother as well. The problem is Eileen has had a totally impractical craving for years: to have wild sex with a stranger. The perfect opportunity is now while her boyfriend, Benjamin, is away in Switzerland on a business trip. She just has to find a candidate for this escapade.

Then Shane Nichols shows up at Eileen's office to install new phones. He is handsome and his jeans fit him just right. Eileen thinks he is just a handyman and does not know he is the owner of a communications business. Shane does nothing to clue her in because he is afraid this will ruin the fantasy that he is happy to fulfill. After the one night, Shane realizes that Eileen is the woman of his dreams and he will try every trick necessary to win her.

Ms. Thompson has created a story so hot in After Hours that you will need asbestos gloves to read it. The love scenes are guaranteed to heat up your Fall reading and give you more reasons to be a chocoholic as well as a romance reader. Most readers of romance would admit they have fantasies, but most would not be as brave as the heroine.

Eileen is a woman at a crossroad in her life many face, to take the safe path or follow your bliss. Shane is a hero with the perfect combination of passion and sensitivity. The sparks fly between these two early on, but there is a deeper connection that provides the reader with an emotional attachment. I was very impressed that even with the explicit love scenes, there is not excess profanity that so many authors feel compelled to use. After Hours is a must read for all who like their romance sizzling.
