To Kirby, looks are very important. As the CEO of her own custom cosmetics company, she must maintain her image. For her that is a man who has all his hair and is taller than her. Her independence is everything to her. Dictatorial Assholes need not apply.

Her sister Kristin, after marrying her own DA, is now trying to fix up Kirby. But what she doesn’t know is that Kirby already has a man - well sort of. Jack is her cosmetic supply sales rep. They have been having a hot and heavy affair over the phone for 2 years, and she was quite content with the relationship. But Jack wasn’t, he was ready to take their relationship to the next level.

Kirby is in for a surprise. Jack is nothing like she expected him to be. He definitely doesn’t fit the image of her "perfect man". For Jack, Kirby is everything he could want and more. He has always had a weakness for strong, independent women. Boy, does he have his hands full.

Kirby and Jack are coming from two different places. Kirby, still hurt from the betrayal of a former lover, doesn’t believe that men and women can be equal in a relationship. She is determined to not let him control their relationship or her company. Jack is so sure he knows Kirby, but he is going to find out that although they grew close during their "conversations’, he really doesn’t know her at all. Before it is over, they are going to find out who is really the Dictatorial Asshole in this relationship.

They will both have to learn that love is more than control and that physical beauty really is only Skin Deep. I enjoyed this story immensely. Ms. Haynes has written a story that will make you think twice about rejecting that less than perfect person, and hopefully make you re-think your belief that if they look good, then they are right for you. Kirby and Jack are strong, passionate and secure people. The sex is hot and inventive. I will never look at a vibrator in the same way again.
