Tess MacKenzie has worked hard for her career as a singer. Her road to fame is quite rocky. After the tragic loss of her parents, the singer begins to devote many hours to her career and becomes a moderate success. All of that stands to change when she is accosted by a gun-wielding madman determined to take her last few dollars after a gig. Facing danger and possible death, Tess made a snap decision that has far –reaching consequences. In her haste to get away from the criminal, she encounters a sexy man and his robot.

Cohl Travers has been seeking Tess and her sweet voice for a galaxy or more. His father is a prisoner and his very life depends on Tess and her voice. Tess is the only one that can help Cohl to rescue a treasure, a treasure that might save his father. Tess is skeptical, even though she cannot deny her attraction to the handsome alien.

The situation is complicated when she discovers that Cohl’s father is a king. The stakes have never been higher. Tess is forced to work together with Cohl, the crown prince. As she finally comprehends the political machinations, she realizes that their lives lie in the balance as well.

As Tess and Cohl stay barely one step ahead of their enemies, they begin to grow closer. Can they keep their attraction from consuming them and still manage to save the day?

C.J.Barry is a bold new voice in futuristic romance. She had me riveted and rooting for Tess and Cohl from the early pages of Unearthed. Her world building and descriptions are vivid, and the romance between Tess and Cohl sizzles. A heaping dash of political intrigue and non-stop suspense make this book a memorable read. Ms. Barry’s voice is a vibrant and unique addition to futuristic romance.
