Rubenís pond is swarming with attention since a young girl is found dead floating in it. And he is the only person that seems to know anything, but he refuses to answer any questions that authorities ask him. Is Ruben trying to protect someone? Thatís just what it sounds like. Will he actually go to prison for life to protect this person? This murder of an unknown young lady has the Shipshewana community in an uproar.
With officer Shane Black on the case, Deborah knew that he would do nothing to find out Rubenís innocence. That meant the job was up to her, and she would have Callieís assistance. In the meantime, Callie is looking for a daughter that only her very ill father knows about. Can she find this lady in time to meet her long lost dad? These ladies have their work cut out for them as the try to solve these mysteries.
I love how Vannetta Chapman weaves these stories together with characters that are well created and developed and a plot that will keep readers wanting to find out whatís gonna happen to whom. I highly recommend this book for your enjoyment.
