Eden Lee is tired of her familyís lies. Her older sister is a tramp, having gotten pregnant outside of marriage to someoneóno one knows who the father is. Her parents are claiming Elspethís baby as theirs, and plan to marry Elspeth off to the unsuspecting apprentice coming to work with Liege in his blacksmith shop.
Silas Ballantyne arrives in a snowstorm. He wants to move further west after finishing his apprenticeship. Marriage is not in his plans, not even to one of Liegeís beautiful daughters.
Eden is gentle and fresh. Elspeth is high-spirited and cunning. Each sister wants to secure her future. But which one will claim Silasí heart? And will he adhere to his plans to move west? Or will he stay in Pennsylvania, working with Liege in his shop?
Loveís Reckoning is the first book in Ms. Frantzís The Ballantyne Legacy series, which will be a sweeping family legacy. Fans of Ms. Frantzís earlier historical romances wonít be disappointed by this newest title.
Eden is a sweet and lovable character. I wasn't so impressed with Elspeth, she is unkind and bossy. I fell in love with Silas, he is a true hero, kind and gentle. If you are looking for a historical romance, donít miss Loveís Reckoning. A prequel of the second book in the series, coming in 2013 is included at the end of the book.
