Owned by the Lantz family, the Sweet Seasons Café is a hot spot in the small Amish town of Willow Ridge. Since this little Amish community strictly follows the Old Ways, imagine the talk buzzing through when a stranger shows up saying she is the twin sister of Rachel Lantz. And this strange Englisher is dressed anything but like the Amish lifestyle.

This is an Amish fiction with a twist, with the stranger, saying she is the sister of Amish Rachel. Being a stable in the community, marrying her sweetheart, Micah, settling down in the community and having a family, this twin sister showing up causes an uproar in the life of Rachel and her family. Rachel and Micah were a sweet couple, one that captures the hearts of readers. And I really like the way Micah was there for Rachel during her difficult hours. Charlotte Hubbard creates interesting and unique characters and develops them well as she tells the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this Amish story and I appreciate the author showing that the Amish struggle and have difficult situations just like the rest of us. But they do have a strong faith in God, one that sustains them and carries them through their troubles.

And also, with a lot of the story setting around the Sweet Seasons Café, the food mentioned in this book was mouthwatering! And to help with that, there is a section of recipes that was used in this sweet shop, and I will sure be trying some of them! Overall Summer of Secrets is a wonderful story and I am looking forward to the second book to this series.
