Whispers In The Dark is the fourth book in Maya Banks KGI romantic suspense series. I found it to be as good, if not better than, the last three. It has paranormal parts and I, personally, do not like those types of books, but I absolutely loved this book. I feel it is a must read but one book that can stand alone. You do not need to read the others, but you would want to just so you can meet the other members of the KGI group.
Nathan Kelly has been captive as well as tortured along with his friend Swanson also known as Swanny. There is a time that Nathan is about to give up and just let himself die when he hears a voice talking to him, his own personal angel. He does not know if it is his imagination, but this voice is keeping him safe. Not only does his pain subside but he feels there is a chance he will be able to escape, yet he will not leave Swanny behind.
Shea Peterson has been on the run for over a year. Itís been a long year since her parents were killed. They were able to get away, but both have to keep away from each other as well as stay a step ahead of who wants them. She cannot talk to Grace but something draws her to Nathan. She does her best to keep him safe even when he has doubts that she is a real person who has telepathic ability.
Now Shea needs help and she reaches out to Nathan. At what cost will it be for him to help her? Will the rest of the KGI join Nathan and just accept what he says to be truth?
As I said this was a great book and mine will be staying on my book shelf. Be sure to get your own copy and possibly pick up the other KGI novels, for Maya Banks makes them all good reads.
