Jane Graves does indeed unite two soul mates in her new book, Heartstrings and Diamond Rings.
Alison Carter has had it with dating. She has had no luck finding Mr. Right. Her boyfriend of almost eight months has just proposed they have a threesome with one of Alisonís friends and she is fed up. Her best friend, Heather, suggests that Alison try a matchmaker and Alison figures, she has nothing to lose. So, she visits one of Planoís top matchmakers, Matchmaking by Rochelle. Alison is in for a big surprise however, when itís not a kindly older woman who greets her, but rather Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome, Brandon Scott.
Brandon Scott needs to raise twenty-two thousand dollars and he needs to do it quick, before a real estate deal he wants to take part in goes south. When his grandmother dies and leaves him her house, along with a business that is doing well despite the economy, Brandon decides to become a matchmaker. He will raise the cash quickly by charging clients $1,500 for five matches. It should be simple. Only, as he comes to find out, even his heart is troubled by the ruse he is playing.
Alison should be just another client for Brandon, a way to get his money and run. But before he knows it, he is knee deep in clients and people sincerely looking for love. Brandon is not a scoundrel or a cheat and he wants to help these people find someone to love them. But is he prepared to let his dreams of wealth and glory go by the wayside?
Heartstrings and Diamond Rings is a fabulous story. Alison is genuine and caring and even when she goes on bad date after bad date, she finds a way to remain positive. She has a true heart that shines through this story, making it something special. Readers will truly want to see her happy and settled. Brandon seems like a bit of a jerk on one level but believe me when I say he is far from it. He truly comes to care for Alison and his other clients. He is not callous but instead is slowly learning the importance of love and caring in a relationship. Brandon may not have had a settled and happy childhood like Alison, but he is not immune to setting things right and to truly helping others. I really enjoyed watching these two fall in love.
Heartstrings and Diamond Rings not only has a fabulous romance but there is lots of great humor in this book too! Jane Graves writes some very witty and laugh-out-loud funny dialogue that helps to capture the personalities of her characters. This is a contemporary romance not to be missed! It is a book that you will want to pick up again and again, knowing you can savor Alison and Brandon falling in love once again.
