Max Savoie’s former and possible present unsavory ties make it necessary for Detective Charlotte Caissie to constantly defend her relationship to Max from her fellow officers. Not only must Max walk a thin line in order to avoid putting Cee Cee in a compromising position, he must also work to keep his shifter side from becoming public knowledge and protect others like him from harm. Cee Cee soothes the beast within Max but upon her request for his help in the kidnapping of a fellow officer’s daughter by a possible serial killer their relationship is pushed to the brink, and there may be no saving it.

Bound by Moonlight will have you eagerly turning pages all the way to the end. Max’s childhood and the struggle that Cee Cee and Max face as they navigate their relationship will tug at your heart. Cee Cee is a tough woman who must balance her sense of right and wrong with the necessity to defend Max and keep his secrets. Max is a wicked delight whose shifter side responds on a more primal level which can cause a strain in his relationship with Cee Cee. Max’s primal side is curbed by the vulnerability that Cee Cee engenders in him and the love they share.

Nancy Gideon has created a wonderful series that hooks me from the first page and takes me on a thrilling roller coaster all the way to the end of each book. The humanity that Nancy Gideon has infused in Max’s character is spellbinding and watching Cee Cee and Max’s relationship evolve is fun to see.
