The Hannah Alexander writing team jump starts Steeple Hills new full length book venture with another great inspirational suspense novel.

E. R. Doctor, Cheyenne Allison deals with life and death every day but when her own sister dies, literally in Cheyenne’s arms it is more than she can handle especially when her brother files a lawsuit against her charging her for her sisters death. When she is forced into an extended vacation, she never anticipates how her life will change.

A shell shocked Cheyenne arrives at the run down farmhouse in Hideaway, Missouri never realizing it would soon begin to feel like home. She soon becomes deeply involved in the lives of her neighbors, especially handsome Dane Gideon and his ranch full of foster boys. She quickly realizes her vacation in Missouri will be anything but peace and quiet as she fends off farm animals, works on fixing up the rundown house and helps defend the foster boys from a town that is out to get them.

As Cheyenne tries to deal with her own past, she is soon enveloped in finding out who is causing havoc and even death in an otherwise perfect picturesque town. In the face of danger, Cheyenne will find new friends, faith, a job if she wants it and maybe even love in a place she soon is proud to call home.

A long time fan of Alexander’s work, I found this book a bit slower paced than her others. I found myself wanting her to take the characters back into the emergency room as in her previous books. Don’t miss this exciting writing teams next title in the Hideaway series, Safe Haven in July 2004.
